Western Illinois Animal Rescue, Inc.
Mission Statement
To actively organize, promote, facilitate and finance animal rescue operations in West Central Illinois, initially focusing on Monmouth and Warren County. Operations to include, but not limited to, fundraising, facilitating the adoption of stray and/or unwanted domestic animals, subsidized spay/neuter programs, assisting the poor with companion animal care, humane animal care advocacy, community education and with the eventual goal of developing a long-term care facility to house animals in transition and less-adoptable animals.
Western Illinois Animal Rescue, Inc. will adopt a general no-kill philosophy while maintaining the option for merciful euthanasia in circumstances where no alternative exists. This step will only be taken as a last resort when all alternatives have been exhausted.
Western Illinois Animal Rescue, Inc. will focus on the dogs and cats but will attempt to assist with other companion animals as practical. Acceptance of these animals will be addressed on a case by case basis as determined by the Board of Directors of Western Illinois Animal Rescue, Inc.
