Our Mission
To actively organize, promote, facilitate and finance animal rescue operations in Western Illinois, initially focusing on Monmouth and Warren County. Our physical shelter located in Monmouth, IL houses both dogs & cats waiting for homes.
Our Purpose
Western Illinois Animal Rescue, Inc. (WIAR) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We were founded in 2000 by a group of caring citizens from Warren County, Illinois who wanted to help animals in need. WIAR is a “NO KILL” organization. We do not euthanize any of the animals in our care unless it is medically our only option. We are primarily operated by volunteers and funded by donations, memorials and fundraising.
Partnerships
In addition to the animals we have on site, we have a strong relationship with the Warren County Animal Shelter, and have cats and kittens available for adoption at Monmouth Small Animal Hospital at times.

We work in conjunction with the community, City and County animal controls, and Monmouth Small Animal Hospital to help animals in need. We have great community support. Without our support base we would not be able to help these animals.
