2020 in Review Letter to our Supporters

Volunteer Your Time

WIAR has many opportunities for you or your group to Volunteer:

• Walk or play with a shelter dog
• Cleaning Cat Cages/Scooping Litter
• Cleaning/Letting out Dogs
• Spend time with shelter cats
• Improve the shelter living environment
• Give baths to shelter dogs, or at the Doggie Wash event
• Participate in fundraisers (e.g. Furry Friends Fundraiser, Golf Outing, Annual 5K Run/Walk)

**We ask the volunteers to be at least 16 years of age and commit to volunteering a minimum of 4 hours per month and a 3 month commitment. Volunteers will be asked to do 4-5 training sessions with current volunteers before allowed to be on their own. Volunteers ages 8-15 may volunteer with a parent’s direct supervision. Volunteers must be 18 years old to help with dogs, volunteers under 18 years of age must have a parent consent form signed before volunteer work begins.

Make a Financial Donation

Making a donation can make a big difference in the lives of homeless and abused animals:

• Choose WIAR as your designated charitable organization on AmazonSmile
• Sponsor a cage in honor or memory of a pet or family member at our facility
• Designate memorial gifts to WIAR in plans for yourself or loved ones
• Make a tribute gift in honor of a friend or relative who loves animals
• Drop off at Community National Bank (Attn. WIAR)
• Drop off at Monmouth Small Animal Hospital (Attn. WIAR)
• Mail to WIAR (P.O. Box 145, Monmouth, IL, 61462)

Make an In-Kind Gift

Non-cash donations are critical for an organization entirely supported by volunteers.

Here are a few ideas:

• Purina Smartblends Dog food and Purina One Cat food
• Used sheets, blankets, and towels
• Cat litter
• Cleaning products (e.g. paper towels, baby wipes, bleach, and spray cleaner)

Become A Member

Members are ongoing supporters and advocates for our organization. We could not operate without their generous help:

• Collecting and sharing information about lost/found pets.
• Volunteering on a routine basis with pets in care.
• Assisting with fundraisers.
