About Us

Purpose

Western Illinois Animal Rescue, Inc. (WIAR) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We were founded in 2000 by a group of caring citizens from Warren County, Illinois who wanted to help animals in need. WIAR is a “NO KILL” organization. We do not euthanize any of the animals in our care unless it is medically our only option. We are 100% volunteer operated.

Location

Western Illinois Animal Rescue is located at 300 W Harlem Ave Suite 5, Monmouth, IL. Viewing times are Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 4 pm All other times are by appointment only. We are closed Sunday. You can also schedule an appointment during our office hours depending on availability of staff.

Partnerships

In addition to the animals we have on site, we have a strong relationship with the Warren County Animal Shelter, which is a kill facility, and have cats and kittens available for adoption at Monmouth Small Animal Hospital and Pet Supplies Plus in Galesburg.

We work in conjunction with the community, City and County animal control, and Monmouth Small Animal Hospital to help animals in need. We have great community support. Without our support base we would not be able to help the community and animals.
